Our Story

Moonshine Mike's Beard Oil was born from a simple belief: if you're going to put your name on a product, it should be something you're proud to make.

My wife and I discovered that many beard care companies were simply purchasing generic, mass-produced products, placing their labels on them, and selling them as their own. After trying countless products, we found that many were thin, watery, and failed to deliver the results they promised.

Rather than settle for mediocre products, we decided to create our own.

My wife has spent more than a decade working with essential oils and understanding how natural ingredients work together. What began as an effort to make a better beard oil for me soon turned into a passion. Through extensive testing and refinement, we developed blends that softened beards, nourished the skin beneath, and provided results that far exceeded anything we had previously purchased.

The name Moonshine Mike's comes from a piece of family history. Long before beard oil, my family was known for making moonshine in the hills of Kentucky. Years later, I operated a business manufacturing and selling moonshine stills, and over time the nickname "Moonshine Mike" simply stuck. When we launched our beard care line, the name felt like a natural fit—honoring both family tradition and the independent spirit that drives our business today.

Now living in the Florida Everglades, we wanted our products to reflect the wild beauty and unique character of the place we call home. That's why our scents and product names draw inspiration from Everglades wildlife, plants, legends, and landscapes. Whether it's the mysterious Skunk Ape, the powerful Florida Panther, or the dark waters of Ole Blackwater, each product tells a story rooted in the natural world around us.

Moonshine Mike's remains a true family business. My wife develops and crafts every essential oil blend by hand, while I handle the bottling, labeling, and marketing. We believe in making our products ourselves, maintaining complete control over quality from start to finish.

We're not interested in shortcuts, private-label products, or fancy marketing gimmicks. We believe in honest craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and products that actually work. Every bottle we produce represents our commitment to those values.
